I am trying to think what has been up since my last post. My life hasn’t been too exciting, so maybe that is the real reason why I have not posted. Haha! Yet, I have not been doing much of what I used to do. I was a great scrapbooker. I have done so much of Brendan’s life and was proud of my work. I have not picked up the stuff since last Christmas. Two Christmases ago! I am SO far behind and every time I think of it, I get more discouraged! Maybe, I really should look into the digital scrapbooking. It might make it so much easier. I do not want to regret quitting because the books are something I would love to give my son someday. I am sure he will not care too much about them, but maybe his wife will.

I do not even journal like I used to. I am not meaning by “blogging,” but I used to journal about my life in letters to Brendan. I started writing them when I found out about the possibility of adopting him, but I have even stopped that. I start to do it, but then I either get too distracted or have nothing to say that excites me. See, I am a mess.’

One thing that has happened since I last posted is that my “baby” turned nine! I cannot even believe that. He still sleeps with me, and it has been hard to get him into his own room. When I told him that he had to start when he turned nine, he asked me why that was the case. I told him it was because he was too old. He paused to ponder that, then said, “No I am not! Daddy was older than me and he slept with you!” Haha. He does have a point.

Anyway, I do think of all my “on-line” friends. I do see most of you around on facebook, so at least I am not completely out of the loop. I hope you are all well!

• My computer does not work at school.
• Meaning, I cannot get Internet access in my classroom.
• This is really frustrating.
•  My son just told me that he could not “possibly” remember  all the art terms he had to know by tomorrow.
• He told me that he was going to write the answers on a small piece of paper and cheat.
• At least he is honest about it.
• I cheated when I was little.
• I got spanked for it too.
• But, he is adopted, so I hoped he would not get that from me.
• His birth parents were both smart.
• We celebrated his “Adoption Day” on Saturday.
• It has been eight years.
• I have to do a Science Fair with my students.
• I hate science.
• I hope you all are doing well!

I have always told other teachers, after I left the field, to journal things that happen in their classes. You think you will remember the funny things that happen, but not all of them. I have been wanting to journal some of the things that happen to me, but I find myself doing other things (facebook, haha).

I am amazed how working with boys can be so entertaining. I am used to them because I have three nephews and one son. It’s all about poop, burps, and toots. So crazy!

We have been studying planets in science class. I made my students each choose a planet and write a report on it. They actually had to talk about their planets in class. Well, one of my students had the planet “Uranus.” I am sure you can see where I am going with this, but the whole time he mentioned “Uranus,” the class would giggle. The sad thing is that the poor boy did not have a clue, being that young, I do not think he even knew why it was so funny. He must have mentioned the name about thirty times, and every time that happened …. giggle. I tried to keep a straight face, but by the tenth time, I too lost it.

On another note, my son just asked me how people get babies in their tummies. He keeps asking that more and more these days. I am not going to put this off much longer.

• I have not scrapbooked in a year. I really need to get back to it, but I have no motivation. It saddens me, because I think I did a pretty good job at it. Maybe I should look into the digital stuff? Would my little laptop be able to handle it? Any suggestions?
• I miss blogging. I miss reading your blogs. I miss commenting too. Wow, things have been busy!
• I did get some rest during the holidays which was what I needed.
• I did not want to come back to work today, until someone commented on people not having a job. I should be thankful that I have one, right?
• That still does not make me less tired.
• Certain kinds of people frustrate me. Gotta let it go.
• My crockpot was too small for my roast this morning. Had to wait until it thawed to squish it in. Sounds yummy, huh?
• I have to pee, but am too lazy to get up and do it.
• I have not had any soda for five days. I know that does not sound like a big deal, but it is to me. I have had mostly water. My kidneys and bladder are thanking me too much!
• I am excited that all my favorite shows are back on NOT showing reruns.
• I am going to have a Pampered Chef party in two weeks. Anyone want to come?
• It’s raining outside, which means that my students will have “recess” in my classroom. Oh, joy!
• Yep, they just came in. Four, rowdy boys. Thank God I already took some ibuprofen.
• I am giving a few tests this week! I love test days!
• I love “my boys.” They are great kids.
• Hopefully, I will blog more this year. I will make myself!

Wesley: “You’re wearing thongs!?! It’s cold outside!

Friend: “EEWWW!”

Wesley: “Don’t you know what a thong is?”

Friend: “No.”

Later….

Wesley: “Aunt Chelle, he thought thongs were gross! He does not even know what they are!

Me: “Oh, Sweetie! I think he had the right idea in the first place!”

Brendan: “Mommy, what is breeding?”

Me: “Breeding? Why do you ask?”

Brendan: “Well, I am reading this book on George Washington, and it said he bred donkeys.”

Me: “It is when a girl donkey and a boy donkey has a baby.”

Brendan: “How do they have a baby?”

Me: “You put them in a room together and shut the door.”

Brendan: “But, what do they do in the room?”

Me: “Ask your teacher!”

I took my son and nephew to McDonalds today for lunch and while we were there the two youngest started fighting over a Happy Meal toy.

Me: “Shame on you for fighting on a silly toy! You are going to get so much for Christmas. You know, there are so many children that will not get anything because their parents do not have any money.”

Brent: “And…. (holding his finger up), they are naughty!”

So much for making them feel badly for their actions!

1. Taking a nap – I am so about to fall asleep in my classroom right now. Thankfully, the students have not noticed yet.
2. What I am going to make for dinner tonight – I have no clue.
3. What is the next point on this list – Haha, I already know.
4. The school’s Christmas program on Friday night – I hope the kid’s do well.
5. The house cleaning that needs to get done – When am I going to have time to do it?
6. The rest of the Christmas gifts I need to get for family – Thankfully, I am almost finished!
7. The few more Christmas cards that need to go out – Almost finished with that too. Boy, were stamps expensive this year!
8. Payday is just too far away – When will the fifteenth get here?
9. The Christmas play for the church on Sunday – Hopefully, Brendan’s outfit fits him.
10. Why is one of my student’s struggling so much – God, please give me patience.
11. My parents.
12. How cold I am right now – Really, I am a wimp, because compared to some states right now, it’s warm.
13. That I really need to go to the bathroom – But, I cannot leave my classroom yet.

2. I teach elementary, a level that I am not used to teaching.
3. It has been all about lesson plans.
4. It has been also about coming home and teaching piano lessons until 6:00, after teaching classes all day.
5. Oh, and not to mention doing homework with my precious son.

7. Then, I have to put some time surfing facebook. I blame her for making me join!
8. I have to eat.
9. Oh, and sleep is important too. I have been going to bed at 9:00. NOT KIDDING!
10. I do not blog as much anymore.
11. I have no “gumption.”
12. I HATE teaching science (I know that has nothing to do with whether I do a TT or not, but I just had to put that in there).
13. My life is good, but things are changing that I do not want to change.

Mikey (my brother): “You look like Michael Jackson!”

Jared: “I’M NOT A GIRL!”

I guess no one told him that Michael Jackson is not a girl!

Wesley:  “Aunt Chelle is using the boy’s bathroom?”

Collin:   “She always does.”

Explanation:

I have a door in my classroom that leads straight to the boy’s bathroom.  It is so convenient for the boys in my class (I do not have any girls), but most of the time I use it too.  It helps me  because I do not have to walk so far to the girl’s bathroom, and I can still keep an “ear” open when I leave the class.  Of course, the door is shut and I never use it when the boys are in there.

My nephew, Wesley, did not have school today, so he came with me to visit our new school.  He had actually wanted to attend, but it is just too far away right now.  Anyway, I think he was a little confused when his crazy aunt decided to “use the bathroom.”
