Thursday Thirteen (Thirteen Bible Verses I am Clinging to Right Now)
Thursday, September 28, 2006 8:49 AM

- Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.”
- Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
- Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
- Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
- Psalm 61:1-2 “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
- I Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
- I Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
- Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct they paths.”
- Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
- Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
- I Corinthians 12:9-10 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
- Psalm 30:4-5 “Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
- Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The world would be a better place if everyone clung to those verses.

Those are some great verses to remember. Next time I start feeling down, I’m going back to this blog!

Some very inspirational verses.
Happy TT!
I wanted to pick a favorite, but it was impossible. They are all the best!
As crazy as it sounds, as an Atheist, my favorite line from the old Testament is : “Fear thou not; for I am with thee”. I think there cannot be any greater comfort in religion than to hear those words.
Thanks for visiting my site, I linked to you from TT -13 reasons you know it’s 2006
Thanks for the verses- I needed them this morning. Isn’t awesome how God left those all behind knowing we would have need for them time and again. What an awesome God we serve! Be blessed today and thanks for stopping by.

What a wonderful TT. I, for one, am so glad that the Bible says make a joyful NOISE (because when I attempt to sing, that’s all that comes out..noise! LOL).
Thanks for stopping by mine.
Great list - numbers 3 and 8 have long been a couple of my faves, but I am happy to be directed to the others - they’re all beautiful:)
And I’ll send some hugs and prayers your way, just in case you need them
Happy T13 (sorry I’m running late again this week)!

Thanks for stopping by my TT yesterday.
I love all of these scriptures and have had them memorized as well so that they could help me through tough times. Psalms 61:1-2 is my favorite of all.
Bless you.

7 and 9 are special ones to me!
Great inspirational verses. Look up Jeremiah 28:11 as well. That’s my ultimate fave. Have you ever read The Message translation? I’m reading that now and find it’s so easy for me to understand, it’s in our common language of nowadays.
I’m going to check out Thursday Thirteen now. Hadn’t heard of that before.
