About Me
Name: Chelle Y.

I am a mother of one beautiful six year old boy, and I am a Die-hard Oakland A's fan. I was a history and algebra teacher for nine years before my son came into my life, then became a stay-at-home mom. That has been one of my greatest joys.

I love to play the piano and now I teach other children how to play piano too.

Thursday Thirteen #77 (Thirteen Things About My Nephew, Jared)

Wednesday, September 26, 2007 3:00 PM

  1. I was supposed to watch him “come into the world,” but I missed him by two minutes.
  2. He was the first “newborn” I ever held before I had my son.
  3. He was “mine.” I never thought that I would be a mother, so since my sister already had a baby (Wesley is six months older), I claimed Jared as mine.
  4. I sang, “You are my Sunshine” to him as a baby because he was (and still is) pure sunshine.
  5. He walks into a room, and it literally lights-up with his presence.
  6. He never meets a stranger.
  7. He is a messy kid, but we all still love him. It’s our fault. When he was a baby, we would throw cherrios on the floor and he would eat them. Wesley and Brent (my other two nephews) could not stand to have their hands dirty, even as a baby. Jared….not so much! :)
  8. He always has a smile on his face.
  9. He is the only one out of all the boys that will sit and watch me play the piano. He is learning how to play too.
  10. He is such an entertainer. He loves to be the center of attention, but not in a “cocky” way.
  11. He loves to fish. He is what you would call a true “country boy.” He could spend the whole day at the lake fishing.
  12. I call him Jarebear.
  13. I love him very much!

  35. JareBear really resembles you, too! Lucky you to have such a great kid in your life!

  36. LOL! You would throw them on the FLOOR and he would eat them? Off the FLOOR…

  38. seems like a great guy!!! thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  39. jarebear sounds like a real darling! thanks for sharing this. i’m sure he feels all the love you have for him too :-)

  40. We really only threw the cheerios on the floor to be funny because he would go after them so fast like a puppy, but we didn’t do that much. Most of the time I would just have to make sure I swept because he loved to find food off the floor and eat it even if it was last nights dinner. Maybe that’s why he has such a great immune system. He has always been my “healthy one”. He’s a blessing and I do love that smile!!

  41. Very sweet post Michelle. I can see the family resemblance in both of your ’sunny’ smiles! He sounds like a very special kid. Thanks for sharing all these wonderful things about Jared.

And a Happy Belated Birthday to you!

  42. What sweet idea for TT !

  43. Very sweet. I was nine when my sister was born and eleven when my brother was born and I remember having that same, “he’s mine” sense. Not that I was thinking about my own children at that time!

I also have a nephew named Wesley!
