About Me
Name: Chelle Y.

I am a mother of one beautiful six year old boy, and I am a Die-hard Oakland A's fan. I was a history and algebra teacher for nine years before my son came into my life, then became a stay-at-home mom. That has been one of my greatest joys.

I love to play the piano and now I teach other children how to play piano too.

Thursday Thirteen #74 (Thirteen Things About My Mom)

Wednesday, September 5, 2007 12:00 PM

It Mom’s turn this week! I have already done my sister, brother, and daddy. Soon, I’ll run out of family, then TT ideas! :)

  1. She had me when she was seventeen.
  2. She is from Thailand and did not know any English when she came to America with my dad in 1968.
  3. She learned quickly.
  4. She is a great cook. She can watch someone cook something once, then copy it without any recipies. (Too bad I did not inherit that gift from her)!
  5. She made us kids breakfast every morning when we were still living at home.
  6. She took us to all our lessons (piano, voice, clarinet, flute, baton, etc…) and never complained about being tired or too busy.
  7. We had dinner as a family every night, at the dinner table, without the televison to distract us.
  8. She is a wonderful grandmother now. The boys love to go bowling with her or to the amusement park.
  9. She has so much energy. I do not know where she gets it!
  10. She is a “senior citizen,” but does not look it!
  11. She sent us a care package full of goodies when we were at college almost every week.
  12. She would do anything for her family.
  13. She is the kind of mom I hope to be for Brendan someday.

  32. How many times a month do we hear her asking, “Do you have a seenya citizun discount?” or say, “Im a seenya citizen, can you tell?” Hahaha! NOBODY believes her, with reason! You and your brother and sister got her genes, too. LUCKY! Pass some to me, if you can :-)
