Thursday Thirteen #121 (I Love…..)

When I was a little girl, my dad would play this record, Country Songs for Children, by Tom T. Hall. My sister and I would listen and dance to those songs for hours. One of my favorites was called I Love. In that song, he mentions “little things that he loves” and I never realized how sweet the song was until Brendan was born and I bought the CD for him.
Last night I could not sleep and that silly song popped into my head. Then, that gave me a great idea on my TT list. I thought that I would list thirteen “little” things that I love. Sometimes, it’s the littlest things that make me happy the most.
What are some of your “little” things that you love?
- Little Baby Ducks - Just like the first line of the song, I too love little, baby ducks. The college that I went to had a lake on its campus. My favorite time of year was in the spring when the little duckies were born. They were so cute, and just made “life away from home” a little more bearable.
- Cherry Slurpees - These are actually my favorite Summertime drink. I prefer the “white” cherry, because trying to get the red dye out of clothes is not the greatest thing, but… YUMMY!
- Baseball in the Summer - Especially, my boys, even if they are doing TERRIBLE right now!
- Hearing my son laugh - I took him to see a movie that was bashed by the critics. What do they know? They probably have never sat through one with a little boy who laughed through it. I think children are the best critics.
- Baby hugs and kisses - I have the privilege of watching this sweet, little baby girl. When she hugs me, she pats my back. It is so sweet. I am going to miss her because she will be going somewhere else, while I begin teaching again in the fall.
- Peanut M&Ms - I could eat these all day!
- Hanging out with family - We do not even have to be doing anything special. Just being around the people I love the most is the greatest feeling ever!
- My church - I have some of the greatest prayer warriors there.
- Pepsi - Although, I try not to drink too much of this anymore, I still love the refreshing taste of one.
- Hearing the words, “Mommy, I love you!” - When he was little, it was “Mommy, I wuv you,” but they are still sweet words.
- Playing games with my son - He loves games and I love to win. So, I will
cheatdo my hardest to win at them, and teach him to be happy for me, when I do.
- Summer Barbecues and Swimming - So sad, the summer is almost over!
- Friendship - God has given me the greatest friends!

That’s a great list you made! This kind of list makes us realize we have a lot to be thankful for.
Thanks for visiting my Olympics TT.
Whatever makes a person feel like this is good.
What a happy list! I bet you hope summer never ends. thanks for visiting my TT.
I LOVE cherry slushes! I get them from Sonic every once in a while. Now I’m thinking I might go get one right now! LOL
When I was in 7th grade I had an English teacher who played that Tom T. Hall song for us. Then made us write a paper listing all the things we loved. Everyone thought it was hokey so nobody really listed much. Then our teacher got mad and yelled at us told to make a list of 100 things and bring it on the next Monday or lose 100 points in the class. Then she made us read it out loud!
You should totally do something like that to your class. hahaha
The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, The Little Prince–my favorite children’s books. I still read them.
A great list! I love Peanut M&M’s too! My list this week is about things I love too!
Great list:) Funny…I did a post about my anticipation of Fall….lol. I love Peanut M&M’s. Happy TT.
I am with you on No. 6. I am appalled that M&Ms have also gone gourmet with very expensive small boxes. With M&Ms it’s got to be lotsa!
I love little things too, nothing beats a pat on the back from a baby !
I love the smell of rain, the way my daughter sings Ring Around the Rosie, and the way my son asks me questions.
A lot of these would be on my list as well as air conditioning :), the quietness of the house in the early morning or late at night, “inside” jokes with my husband and kids, a good church.
My children’s laughter would be at the top of my list. Happy T13!

What a great list. Being a mom provides some of the best moments in life!
My sons do the same thing. Pat me on my back when they give me a hug.
I haven’t done TT in a long while. Good to be back.
Wishing you and yours health, balance and joy.

Ilove clouds and a lot of the things you mentioned too. I may have to use this sometime.
Great list.
I too love the taste of pepsi–especially when it has been chilled in ice.
Tom T. Hall is one of my favorite performers along with Don Williams. Good Luck at school.
