About Me
Name: Chelle Y.

I am a mother of one beautiful six year old boy, and I am a Die-hard Oakland A's fan. I was a history and algebra teacher for nine years before my son came into my life, then became a stay-at-home mom. That has been one of my greatest joys.

I love to play the piano and now I teach other children how to play piano too.

Thursday Thirteen #113 (Thirteen More Things About Me)

Wednesday, June 11, 2008 7:16 AM

  1. I do not like my food touching each other.  I will get a new plate if I have to.
  2. I cannot stand cooked carrots.  But, I love the raw ones, especially with Ranch dressing.
  3. I cannot stand raw broccoliBut, I love them steamed.
  4. I do not like onions.   But, I like onion dip and onion bagels.
  5. I do not like mushrooms.  Total gag reflex!
  6. I do not like lettuce on my sandwiches, tacos, or hamburgers.  But, I like salads.
  7. I cannot work if there is clutter around me.  But, my house does not necessarily have to be “spotless.”
  8. I cannot stand to have my gas tank half empty.  If it is on the half-way mark, it is empty to me and with gas prices here in California, it does not make me feel as badly when I have to “fill it up” because I am paying less at the moment.
  9. I cannot swim.  That is one reason why I am afraid of being in the ocean or lake.
  10. I LOVE to read.  But, do not do it as much because I am watching too much television.  Haha!
  11. I am a pretty insecure person.  But, I will hid it with humor in making fun of myself.
  12. I love meeting new people.  But, I am kind of a shy person.
  13. I play the piano when I am depressed.  It calms my spirit.

  1. My husband is the same way (#1)

    Happy TT.

  2. Funny, I don’t like onions either. I never cook with them, but I love onion dip lol Crazy! Great list. Happy T13!

  3. I’m with you on the carrots. Why cook them when they actually taste good raw.

  4. I don’t like mushrooms, either — too rubbery! And I can’t swim or play the piano. I am VERY uncomfortable meeting new people, but I can do it if I need to. I love reading, too! I can let my gas tank get to 1/8 of a tank and still drive for 3 days. :) I don’t mind lettuce on sandwiches, burgers, or tacos if it’s fresh and not wilted. I like broccoli either way and don’t mind onions if they’re chopped small.

    Happy Thursday!

  5. I’m exactly the same way on 1,6,7,11 and 12 …. It’s like we’re related or something.

  6. We do the “half is empty, fill ‘er up” thing with the car, too. Takes the sting out of it! I can’t work in a mess, either.

  7. Okay, I’ll take the brocolli, carrots and mushrooms you don’t want (smile). Any way they’re prepared is fine by me. That lettuce things is kind of odd, especially since you enjoy salad. I’m guessing you just don’t like your lettuce too close to your meat (LOL).

  8. I love steamed broccoli too. And I love to read, too. I can’t play the piano, though my mom was piano teacher too. Wish I had that talent. I wonder what music you like to play…

  9. I loooove mushrooms. :-P

I dont mind my food touching, but I hate the plate when its finished. Plates with old food (even fresh, as in finsihed minutes ago) make me ill. i was a really bad waitress.

  10. Nice post. Thanks for sharing.
I agree completely with you about clutter. I HATE it.

  11. My son in law can’t stand that food touching thing either. That sort of eliminates casseroles! Great list.

  12. I totally get you on 2, 5, 7, 9, 10, and 12!

  13. It was nice learning a bit more about you, Chelle! I envy you being able to play the piano.

  14. I also do not like my food to touch. It drives me crazy!

  15. Great list. I prefer my food to be separate but if it touches I’ll still eat it… Happy TT

  16. I used to hate cooked carrots, but lately I’ve been ok with them in my stew.

  17. I can’t stand lettuce on sandwiches and hamburgers either.
And my boys don’t like their food touching either so I use those melamine (sp?) plates with the dividers. They also must have a different fork/spoon for each food on their plate. Makes for a lot of dirty dishes every night.
