About Me
Name: Chelle Y.

I am a mother of one beautiful six year old boy, and I am a Die-hard Oakland A's fan. I was a history and algebra teacher for nine years before my son came into my life, then became a stay-at-home mom. That has been one of my greatest joys.

I love to play the piano and now I teach other children how to play piano too.

Thursday Thirteen #109 (Thirteen Things Wonderful Things About Being A Mom)

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 8:58 AM

  1. The words, “I love you, Mommy!” are some of the sweetest you will ever hear.
  2. The smile he gives you when he wakes up in the morning.
  3. The “baby kisses” he gave you when he was really little.
  4. The “reluctant kisses” that he gives you now.
  5. The pictures and crafts that he gives you.
  6. The big bear hugs.
  7. The fun stories he tells.
  8. Hearing him say, “Thank you, Mommy” when you do something special for him.
  9. Cuddling up together, while watching his favorite movies.
  10. Hearing him pray.
  11. Watching him play his favorite sport, soccer.
  12. Watching him help his “handicapped” mom with things around the house.
  13. Knowing that he is a gift from God, and being thankful for him every day.

  1. My son doesn’t use the word love much. Mostly I get, “Mama, I like you.” But he does give nice hugs. Happy TT.

  2. I’m not a mother, just to my cats and dogs! :)
    After a break I’m back with my #80: tv-series from the 80’s!
    Happy TT! :)

  3. This is lovely! Esp. this photo! You two look like you love each other very much. (Happy belated Mother’s Day, and thanks for visiting my TT)

  6. Beautiful list and picture. Kids are a gift. I love snuggling with my 3 1/2 year old but she is getting to the age where she won’t let mom give her kisses all the time. She is always on the go. LOL!! Happy TT.

  7. This is such a lovely list, and a terrific photo to go with it :)

  8. So sweet!

  9. This is a great photo and a nice list. My son is only 8 weeks old but he does “talk” to me and smile alot :)
My Daughter (3) is challenging at moment as she is adjusting to no longer being the centre of the universe LOL.
I would add one more to the list “watching them sleep”

  10. Isn’t being a mom great! Happy TT

  11. Oh, Chelle, I SO needed this reminder! I’ve had a rough two days with my oldest and the school bus and not knowing the wisest course of action.

  39. It was his Momma’s love that made him into the sweet boy that he is. You two are so well matched. It’s touching.

  40. You can see how loved he feels, just by looking at his face.

    :)

  41. you are so blessed! it is wonderful that you know it.

glad you enjoyed the silly book title list at my TT. that BTW came from an email fwd–an eleven page, 10pt font, single spaced attachment sent to me about four years ago by my sister who, when it was sent to her, remembered how we three sibs as kids would make up these hilarious author/title combos on road trips.
