I am a mother of an eleven year old boy, named Brendan. I am a Die-hard Oakland A's San Jose Sharks' fan. I teach fourth grade and private piano lessons.

I have a wonderful God, family, and church. I am so blessed! I am learning on a constant basis that, "God is good all the time, no matter what!".

Thursday Thirteen #104 (Thirteen Things About Me)

Before I write my list today, I want to thank everyone for the kind words you wrote concerning the death of my grandmother.  You will never realize how encouraging you were to not only me, but my family also.  I wanted to send each of you a personal thank you, but I have been so busy this past week.  Please know that you did help lift my spirits during a difficult time, and I have never met the majority of you either!

Thank you just does not seem enough.

  1. I am afraid of heights.  BIG TIME!  But, I can still fly in airplanes or ride roller-coasters.  Just not Ferris wheels.
  2. I am afraid of the ocean.  But, I still love to go and sit on the beach.  I just do not like to be in it.
  3. I love chocolate chip ice-cream.  Yummy!  Put hot fudge on it, and that makes it so much better.
  4. My favorite dessert is Chili’s Molten Chocolate Cake.  But, I do not allow myself to eat it often.  I am not a young, “can eat whatever I want” kid anymore.  :(
  5. I am impatient.  But, I really am working on it.  It’s hard!  Haha!
  6. I have a hard time walking, so I use a motor scooter the majority of the time.  But, I get the best parking spots!
  7. I cry easily.
  8. I love meeting new people.
  9. Paula Abdul drives me nuts! But, I still watch American Idol!
  10. I love dogs better than cats.  But, I still adore my “Minnie” (cat).
  11. I love to watch sports! But, because of my physical handicap, I cannot play them.  Hey, at least I understand them.  Well, except for golf and tennis…. still don’t get it.
  12. I hate to cook.  But, my son tells me he wants to be a chef when he “grows up.”  Oh, please God… let him be a great one!
  13. I love being a mom to Brendan!

    And thank you for a TT-13 that tells us about you. I love mint chocolate chip ice cream! I know you said chocolate chip but it made me think about ice cream – LOL!

  10. I don’t find that Paula or Randy really say anything relevant. I am watching tonight to see who gets the boot! I live in Canada and we have Canadian Idol during the summer. Much fun!

    How are you feeling about your dgm? Sometimes it’s harder when all the attention and funeral is over for a bit

  20. Back in the day I had such a crush on Paula. I still think she’s attractive. Which is kind of interesting seeing as one of Paula’s biggest hits was “Opposites Attract” and judging by this list you and I are about as opposite as can be!

  26. I don’t watch American Idol. I am a Dancing with the Stars fan! I’m also “selectively” afraid of heights. For me it’s the Ferris wheel and ladders. I avoid roller coasters because I have a tendency toward motion sickness, so I don’t know if that “high” would frighten me.

    Paula Abdul needs to be put in a padded room and left there. I just can’t stand her at all. She’s a disaster.

  32. I think mint chocolate chip is even better, but it’s not quite the same; a really good chocolate chip ice cream is almost like half vanilla flavor and half chocolate running over your tongue!

  35. Wow, lots of replies. I am with you on the heights, even the whole can do planes and roller coasters but not ferris wheels. For me, I think I have a fear of falling more than a fear of heights. I don’t mind being high up as long as I am enclosed and unable to fall,lol.

  36. I’m with you on the ocean thing. I LOVE looking at it and breathing it in and being near it. But, ever since I almost swam into a man of war while snorkeling, I’ve been afraid to go in!
