About Me
Name: Chelle Y.

I am a mother of one beautiful seven year old boy, and I am a Die-hard Oakland A's fan. I was a history and algebra teacher for nine years before my son came into my life, then became a stay-at-home mom. That has been one of my greatest joys.

I love to play the piano and now I teach other children how to play piano too.

So MUCH Better!

I would like to report that the heat situation has been taken care of, because this week we all received portable air-conditioners! I cannot tell you how nice it felt to actually be “cold” and have to wear a sweater in class.

My “boys” were all more alert than last week, and, of course, it was because of the heat and not because I am a boring teacher. Right? RIGHT? :)

Anyway, the second week went really well. I am finally getting the hang of teaching two grades at once, while keeping one class busy and working with the other. I am exhausted at night, going to bed by nine, but it is a good feeling working and being “useful” with my life.

I want to thank everyone who has been praying for me and wishing me luck. It helps knowing that I have so many people supporting me.

Kat, that was a kind thing you said, but it was easy teaching you because you were a perfect student! :)

Have a great weekend!

My First Week

Well, my friends. I survived my first week of teaching and have come to the conclusion that I LOVE MY JOB! Yes, I know it is the first week, and it is still the “honeymoon” period, but I really feel that I was born to teach. I have always loved teaching, and […]

Hello!

I wanted to stop by and say a quick “hello,” and fill you in my “life’s adventures” so far this past week.
Last, Sunday, one of the most exciting things happened to me! A friend of mine, texted me late Saturday night (thankfully, I was awake watching Michael Phelps win his eighth gold medal) telling […]

Just a “Stop-By”

Okay, I know that I said I was “taking a break,” and I am, but I also said that I would write whenever I had something funny to post. Well, I think it’s funny, and I am mainly posting it because I do not want to forget about it.
Yesterday, I took my son and […]

Taking A Break

Well, I have made a decision….. I am going to take a break from blogging. Well, at least for a little while. It’s not like I blog so much right now anyway, but the pressure I feel “that I must do it” is always there. I like to do it, but […]

Thursday Thirteen #121 (I Love…..)

When I was a little girl, my dad would play this record, Country Songs for Children, by Tom T. Hall. My sister and I would listen and dance to those songs for hours. One of my favorites was called I Love. In that song, he mentions “little things that he loves” and […]

Just Saying Hi

So, I came here to post, but guess what!?! I GOT NOTHING!
I guess I’ll just say “Hi!” I am still alive and good, just busy getting ready to teach! Yay, and ARGGHHH! Send me good wishes!

Thursday Thirteen #120 (Thirteen Random Things)

I am a scatterbrain today, so here it goes….

Why is it that when I paid $4.17 for gas yesterday (can you imagine my excitement?) that to fill my my vehicle, it still cost over $86?
Why do people you love have to die? (An old college roommate of mine was in a serious car accident killing […]

Thursday Thirteen #119 (Then and Now)

It is amazing how our taste in things change the older we get.  I decided that I was going to list thirteen things that I liked when I was a teenager and thirteen things I like now.  Who knows, I might have not changed too much.

Favorite Color ~ Purple / Blue
Favorite Fast […]

Weekend Fun

Brendan and I went to a San Francisco Giant’s game this weekend on a church activity. We had a good time, despite it not being an A’s game.  I did wear my A’s ballcap.  I did borrow my brother’s girlfriend’s Giant’s hat (that is the only thing wrong with her, ha ha), but could […]
